Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)

Program Structure Best For Unique Benefits
Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) Minimum of 10 sessions. First two without ketamine, followed by guided ketamine + therapy sessions. Patients who want to combine ketamine’s biological effects with psychotherapy. Enhances openness and emotional processing. Helps resolve trauma, reduce resistance, and build insight.

KAP allows ketamine to soften rigid thought patterns and open the mind, while a therapist helps you process emotions, release trauma, and build healthier perspectives. It is particularly powerful for trauma, depression, and anxiety.

What to Expect During Your Ketamine Journey

  1. Initial Consultation – Full evaluation of your history, symptoms, and goals.
  2. Preparing for Treatment – Guidance on medications, clothing, and safe transport.
  3. During Your Infusion or KAP Session – Calm environment, provider or therapist present, continuous monitoring for infusions.
  4. After Your Session – Careful monitoring until stable; arrange a ride home.
  5. Integration & Ongoing Care – Therapy, journaling, lifestyle practices, and boosters as needed.

Integration & Long-Term Care

  • Follow-up therapy sessions.
  • Journaling or reflection.
  • Mindfulness or lifestyle supports.
  • Booster infusions when needed.

Training Details

Sean completed advanced training at the Ketamine Research Institute, learning the RESTORE Infusion Protocol, a precision medicine and systems-based approach that redefines ketamine therapy.

Unlike standard infusions, RESTORE carefully considers individual factors like body mass, metabolism, concurrent medications, genetics, and even psychological state. Adjusting for these ensures that ketamine achieves its most effective serum concentration.

Why it matters for patients:

  • Clinical effects begin 6× faster than with standard protocols.
  • Patients experience a 3× higher response rate.
  • Results last nearly 10× longer than conventional methods.

Integrative Psychiatry Institute – Ketamine Provider Training

The IPI Ketamine Provider Training prepared Sean to combine medical expertise, psychological support, and trauma-informed care in every session.

Key elements of this program included:

  • Medical foundations: advanced study of ketamine’s neurobiology, pharmacology, and role in neuroplasticity.
  • Safety protocols: rigorous instruction in monitoring, managing side effects, and handling complications.
  • Therapeutic support: creating a safe, affirming environment where patients feel guided and supported.
  • Integration practices: helping patients transform rapid symptom relief into meaningful, lasting growth.

IPI Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy – Year-Long Certification

Sean’s expertise is further deepened through the year-long Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy certification at IPI. This immersive program provided:

  • 12 months of advanced coursework in psychedelic medicine.
  • Hands-on experiential training with ketamine, psilocybin, and 5-MeO-DMT.
  • Mentorship in guiding patients through profound therapeutic experiences.
